Breathe in the beauty of spring in full bloom.
Each April, Muskogee’s Honor Heights Park transforms into a living rainbow for the Azalea Festival—with over 30,000 azaleas, plus tulips, dogwoods, and wisteria painting 40 acres in every shade of gorgeous. Stroll the winding garden paths, snap a photo under an arch of blossoms, and let the season fully surround you.

And just when you think it can’t get more magical, step into the Papilion—our open-air Butterfly House nestled within the park’s lush gardens. Starting Mother’s Day Weekend through September 30, the Papilion lets you experience the wonder of native Oklahoma butterflies up close as they flutter, hatch, and feed among vibrant blooms. Admission is just $3 for adults and $2 for kids, students, seniors, and military guests.

The Papilion isn’t just for butterfly watching—it’s also home to an Education Center, Garden Room, and themed outdoor gardens perfect for school visits, summer camps, weddings, and unforgettable private events.

Whether you’re here for the Azalea Festival parade, a garden picnic, a butterfly encounter, or just a little sunshine and color—spring and summer in Muskogee start at Honor Heights Park.

Monday-Saturday 9am-3pm; Sunday 1-4pm. 
Admission is free to enter the Papilion gardens during the month of April.
Azaleas and tulips bloom in the month of April, butterflies will arrive Mother’s Day Weekend for visitors inside the Butterfly House.
